Friends @ OSP West!!!

April 30, 2009

So with all my blogging of OSP West…here is one of my fav. photos…These girls are awesome, Jen, Emily and Kacy…they were amoung the people that came out on the night shoot to mess around with the video light (which I will be posting some photos from soon)…This is what happens when I turn the camera on people, LOL. We were just testing the video light before the model got there and they volunteered to get in front of the light so I could mess with the setting and BAM, you get a shot like this, LMAO.

As usual I got to shoot another amazing and fun family. There little boy Niko, is so cute. We went to the forest for some of the time and it was really cool back there, I am going to do more shoots back there. We did some cool family shots on a fallen log that is above the path and spans the forest…it was there idea…usually those crazy ideas are mine, that was very cool.  Niko, was trying to eat everything, I mean everything…anything he could get his hands on…it went right to his mouth…there is a photo of him putting some sort of debri in his mouth….it was absolutely hilarious. :-) As always enjoy and feel free to leave comments :-)

So I was up at OSP West a few weekends ago and I set up a couple of night shoots, and had some photogs come out and we all had some fun shooting…In one of the alley’s we went too…I found a very sketchy latter, and said what the hell, the result is the following photo…(The photo was taken by John Griffinn…out of the Frisco bay area)…

Another senior…yay…Sara fell in love with my work and wanted me to shoot her senior photos. She was all about it and totally hammed it up for me…which always makes my job so much easier ;-) If you follow me on twitter @brandonperron , you saw me mention a dual senior shoot…it was Ian and Sara…They both put up with me and some of the crazy things I wanted to do and even stuck around into the cold evening to do some night shooting with the Portland city lights in the background, which I absolutely love!!!

Senior Season has arrived!!!!! Ok, well kind of…most seniors are not getting there photos done until summer time, but some get them done early, which is awesome, because no one can tell if it is summer or not…and this time of year there are still clouds, which are great for photos.  Ian is a senior rep for me, he is from Sam Barlow High School…which is where I graduated from! As you can tell from the photo we went downtown, which is where I love to shoot…Ian did a great job…as is the case with myself and most guys…they are not hot on the whole getting photos taken, but he did well ;-) As always please feel free leave comments!

Vanessa and Tony are friends/neighbors of my wife’s bosses, they had me come shoot their little ones and a little of them as well. They live on Lake Oswego and have an absolutely beautiful piece of heaven…I am super jealous that I do not have a house on the lake. It was so funny, I was explaining to Vanessa that it takes a while for kids to warm up to the idea of having me follow them around with a giant apparatus on my face…but Wyatt made me look like a fool and was totally hamming it up for me as soon as he came outside, LOL…No complaints, just really funny! As usual, I throughly enjoyed myself…So with out further adu … The Photo Tease!

So if anyone follows me on twitter @brandonperron or on facebook…you will know that I just got back from a weekend at OSP (Open Source Photo) West…It took place in Seattle… I have to say, it was an absolute blast being up there with a bunch of other photogs. They had some amazing speakers, Gene Higa, Mike Larson, Kevin Swan, Ken Sklute, and Jim Garner…So much info. was shared. As well as the learning aspect in a conference room, we were able to go out and do some shooting with some models…These are obviously, from the bridal shoot…The model did such a great job!!!! I wish that I was able to do this type of shoot with every bride that I photograph…they are so much fun and make for the most amazing photos!!!! I also I have to note that, after shooting in Seattle, completely solidified my desire to photograph weddings up there on a regular basis…I have so many ideas in my head right now, that I almost want to shoot a wedding for free…just to shoot up there ;-)

This was not the only shoot, that I did, there were a couple of others…but I also set up a couple of night shoots with the video light for some photographers to come out and put themselves in a little different scenario then they are used too and offer a different type of lighting set up to mess around with…Of course the night I really enjoy, because I love my video light allows me to pull off…Those will be coming in the next few days so stay tuned…but I had to get something up :-) As always, feel free to leave a comment or two…

Ok, so I posted the sneak peek shots from the model shoot with Christine…but she was not the only model there… Sara brought some other “models” along on the day…they were just friends of hers, but they did an awesome and it was a blast (Thanks Sara)…They were all great sports about it all. A few of them were downtown and stopped by to say hi and had no idea until they got there, they were going to be photographed! But they got the surprise of the night when they showed up, because they did get photographed…LOL…but it all worked out. Here are a few of the shots of them…

This door is so amazing! I liked when we came upon it, but got even more stoked, when I saw it in the photos on the computer…I will be back for sure, door!

This is such a great shot, minus the damn wind blowing hairs, but I will deal with it just because it is such a great shot…(maybe at some point I will pull them out)

For showing up and not thinking a sliver of being in photos…what a killer shot…

Again, not thinking she was going to be in photos…it was like she came to be photographed!

Sneak Peek - Perry Kids!

April 13, 2009

This series, are the children that my wife nannies…I have been watching 2 of these kids grow up for the past few years and the other little one, I have seen from the day he entered this world…These kids (as well as their parents) are amazing people! They wanted me to do a shoot a shoot with their kids, with canvas prints in mind…They wanted basically from the waist up and capture the children’s personality, all biased aside…Knowing these kids, I think I got it!…The parents love B&W and enjoy my B&W processing, so all the shots are in B&W…

So I was asked to come out and do an Easter Egg hunt shoot…It was an absolute blast, I have done a few different family/friends/childrens get togethers, but this by far was the most challenging…it honestly made weddings a cake walk:-) , but I still had an absolute blast. There were 21 kids to follow around and capture them having a blast finding eggs.  I met so many nice parents and wonderful kids…I just thought I would share a few of my favorites from the day.
