Mt. Tabor Wedding | Anna & Alex’s Wedding Photography

Its about time that I got these images up… My computer went in for major upgrades and I just got it back and wanted to wait and edit them on my main monitor, that would be calibrated, but the calibrator does not work with all my new stuff…so I am saying screw it, putting them up, cause they need to be and hoping that you will deal with the photos if they are slightly off (new calibrator is on the way)…

Anna and Alex were such an amazing couple, including their bridal party…We all had so much for fun on the day and they put up with me very well. They wanted a ton of portraits so we spent about 3-4 hours on bridal party portraits and they did so well! But damn! did they ever turn out! I had help from my second Sara

The Pearl District in downtown Portland, Oregon is where we made some amazing images for them…I was able to get the bride and groom into an old window that was 5 feet of the ground, that is so freaking awesome! The time and effort for these photos is what really makes them happen, they are going to make for amazing memories.

There was a huge threat of rain the entire day, but the clouds made for perfect light and a nice cool day to be walking and shooting in the outdoors…It did end up raining, but at the reception and it was all under cover, so no harm…no foul.

Mt. Tabor in Portland, Oregon park was where the ceremony took place which was a beautiful back drop for a Oregon Wedding day…the reception was there as well. It was a small little covered area, but it fit everyone and was perfect. Anna and Alex were not going to dance, but they decided to do, despite how small it was and I am so glad they did, they really enjoyed dancing with each other and all their friends…

Thank you Anna and Alex for allowing me to be a part of the day, I had an absolute blast being a part of it!

Mt. Tabor Wedding | Portland Wedding Photography | Brandon Perron Photography Blog

Before we get into my experience and thoughts on Dane Sanders Fast Track Roadshow…In no way was I asked to write a review
or anything of the sort. However, I felt absolutely compelled to give my extended thoughts on the entire experience.

I am going to take a Tarantino approach on this post and tell you some of the highlights before I even get into detail…

- Dane almost kicked me out of the workshop
- I did F—ing cart wheels in front of the entire group

This is going to be long winded, but there will be an offer for me to send people to the workshop for free…

Lets get into it, shall we?

I must say, that I am super skeptical of workshops and feel that alot of photographers offer them, for an additional revenue
stream and present it as something to “help” photographers. I had a distinct feeling that after reading Dane’s book, that his
workshop would be different and for $750, why the hell would I not want to attend (plus you get $2,300 in goodies)?
A little spoiler…it was so NOT about a  revenue stream for Dane…it was for US!

Dane put out to Twitter-”land” asking where he should come…Later that evening, he was on FB and I im’d him on there and
told him, he should really come to the great state of Oregon. He actually wrote back (I was super surprised, as most “big” photogs never do) and told me to find 10 people…I told him, I would give it my best. I did everything I could to find 10 people and only found 4 who would commit, I was slightly disparaged but Dane, made the announcement that he would be coming to Oregon! Score! So I of course was going to help in any way I could…I ended up having the distinct pleasure of being able to be his driver. I am not a star struck kind
of guy (my wife however is and I give her such a hard time), but I have to say…there was a very slight star struck feeling,

but not enough to get in the way :-)  I can tell you Dane is the most genuine guy you will ever meet! The way he is in the workshop is how he is in life and that is so refreshing!

This workshop is more then a business workshop, it is a personal workshop with a heavy emphasis on the business side. I know that may seem crazy, but if you really think about…our business is influenced by major factors of our personal life, so why not focus on that? The workshop really gets to the core of YOU and how it will effect your business, this approach is so revolutionary that it justifies the workshop in itself, both from a personal standpoint and a business standpoint.

The first night, was the PUG meeting…they usually have about 5-10 people, there were almost 40! It was a packed house and
it was such an amazing 2.5 hours! Personally I think he should be charging for that, it is that inspiring and enlightening. So much so that Dane had people in tears (only a warm up to what the workshop would yield in the way of tears) and he inspired a couple people to attend the workshop, that I personally talked to that said they had no interest in spending the money on the workshop. It was astounding!

The first day of the workshop, was the warm up with Dane and to get us into it! Holy shit was it ever the warm up… He really gets into the the thick of things and gets deep down into everyone and who they are…don’t believe me? For 11 people it took almost 4 hours to get through the introductions. This took so long, ’cause he really wanted to understand who we are and where we are coming from, so he could really help us and make the workshop work for us. Something that Dane gets into is making a commitment and when it is broken to have some sort of consequence to help you think about not breaking that commitment…he told us, we would have to sing and he showed us what we had to sing (he really sang). Well, we committed to only taking a 3 min. break and it turned into 5 mins. so we had to sing (a side note, I do not sing and will not sing)…I know a 2 min. slip up does not sound like much, but it was more about showing us when we commit, we must stick with it no matter how little…He had my good buddy Kevin up there to lead and told him that he needed to get us involved and committed to really singing with conviction. Dane noticed that I was not committed, he was right (here comes the part, where I almost got kicked out and hurt Dane)…he told me to get on board and I would not. He brought me up in front of everyone and tried everything in the book to get me to sing and nothing would do it. He started with what if there was a million dollars in the trunk of a car outside, or if my wife’s life depended on it, or if he told me that I would have to leave the workshop if I did not sing…None of them worked…he was on the verge of telling me to leave and conveyed that it truly hurt him to have me be so mean for the sacrifice he and his family had made (he was on the verge of tears, I was in tears at this point), but I am an honest guy and I was not going to lie, just to appease Dane. *a little note about me…hypotheticals do not have an effect on me…because I know they are not real. Because I would of course sing for a 1 million dollars, I would stab hot soldering irons in my eye one at a time if it meant my wife’s life would be saved…but the kicked out of the workshop was more real and I was willing to lose my cash, to not have to sing… I hate singing, if you can not tell…So it took Dane a min. and realized that I needed to do something else. He needed to get off automatic and rethink the singing idea, instead of just sticking to it (I believe he knew that if I was that committed, that I would give up the workshop to not sing, that I am a guy that would commit in the right circumstance). He said he would let me do something else if I committed to doing it, but I did not know what it was, I just needed to trust to him…So I made the leap and trusted him…He told me to pick someone in the room and I had to do what they said, no matter what it was…that ended up being I had to do cart wheels out side…Ask my wife, I would never do that! Although the cart wheels themselves would not change my business, the entire process of getting off automatic is what will change my business. The lesson in this I believe is making progress to changing my business and my life…It only got better from there! Day 1 was absolutely amazing!

Day 2 is where it all gets going. This day is where it all really comes together. This is where Dane introduces some concepts that
will forever lead you on the path to change your business. He delves into different “hats” to wear and how to where them (this
approach is so simple, that when he explains it in detail, it makes absolute sense), to approach certain aspects of the business
and make smart decisions for the business and not as a photographer. He also talks about marketing and branding (which I know is on the top of most photographers minds about there business) and it is so much more then be your own and brand and be true to yourself and your brand.  He goes into great detail about how to really make the brand “YOU” and how important it is to have the brand be you. He talks about Micro-systems and how to set them up and make them work for you to make your business as efficient as possible and as successful as possible. To be honest, I have this sort of mindset, so it was more validation for me…but for most everyone else in the
workshop, it was truly life changing!

Most of all, he takes the time to work with each person, not just a blanket for the whole group. He gets to know everyone personally
and tweaks things for it to match who they are and where they need to go, from where they currently are (thus the 4 hour intros on day one).

I talk about the emotional parts of this as well, because I feel working on the personal things will lead to working on the business side of things…I believe that this is what makes the workshop different then others, its about the core of you and changing it and making those changes effect your business in totally dramatic ways…

Its super hard to explain how insanely awesome this workshop is…so I have decided to send some people to it…Let me explain this further…

I have always said that if I reach a point in my career that I am offering workshops, I will have a scholarship for every workshop
I do. I find that the people who really need workshops are people starting out, but they do not have the funds to attend a
workshop and I think they can benefit most (I am in the same boat, but I sucked it up and made it happen, despite not really
having the funds at all and I would do it again in a second). I did not think I would have the opportunity so soon to allow for
people to attend a workshop with out paying…but I do have the opportunity. Granted it may not be my workshop, but its a workshop, that I believe in so much that I want to get people to it. This is how it is going to work…Everyone that has signed up knows that you get a referral bonus for anyone who signs up using your code…so instead of me keeping this referral bonus, I am going to save them up
and use it to send someone and as many people as I can to the workshop (however, before this happens, I am going to wait until I
recoup the remainder of my money that I spent).

What I will do is announce when I have collected enough money to send someone to the workshop and then I will take email applications…these will consist of all your info., why you feel that you deserve the seat and i will also be evaluating your portfolio to get an idea if I feel you are newer the profession as opposed to someone who is fairly well established, as I want to really help launch someones career. In order to be notified of when I have reached my goal of the price, leave a comment and make sure you put your email in the field provided (that way it will not be in the comment and will not fall into the wrong hands…also know that it will only be used for me, no one else will see it) and I will collect them and send out an email announcing it.

So if you are planning on attending the workshop, please use my code workshop_brandonperron when you sign up to save $75 and be a part of sending someone else to the workshop and not only transforming your life, but being a part of transforming someone else’s life. I am going to do this on the honor system, if you can afford to go, then please pay to go (it will be totally worth your money so many times over) and help those who really want to go but do not have the means. This is the only way this will work, which it may or may not…but I think it is worth a try! So if you want to help with being a part of helping others out, please tell everyone you know about this, send them to my blog and have them use my code and lets see how many people we can get!

Go here to sign up http://store.fasttrackphotographer.com/products/workshop again ONLY $675 with my code and $2,300 in goodeis (goodies that can get your studio into a fully productive studio).

I apologize for this being a bit long winded, but I wish that everyone could attend this workshop, it is truly revolutionary.

If you have questions, please feel free to ask! If you have been to the workshop, please take a moment to leave a comment to let others know how the workshop effected you!
